Event description

Description

The Kent Countryside Partnerships and Kent County Council, in partnership with Peter Hall (H.E Hall & Son, Mill Farm), is delighted to announce the completion of the Mill Farm wetland project. This pilot Natural Flood Management project is designed to receive and store 13,000m3 of water during periods of heavy rainfall and to release it slowly over a number of days. The feature also provides valuable habitat for local wildlife.

To celebrate the success of the project, we are inviting interested parties to attend. The event will showcase the project and provide an opportunity to network and learn from the experiences of the project management team.

The project is part of the Medway Flood Action Plan and we hope that as a demonstration site, it will encourage others to undertake similar Natural Flood Management Projects.

Guest Speakers will include; Julie Foley Environment Agency - Area Director - Kent, South London & East Sussex and Cllr. Mike Hill Kent County Council - Cabinet Member for Community and Regulatory Services
