Stroke recovery isn’t just about physical healing — it’s about rediscovering who you are, making sense of what’s changed, and connecting with others who understand. This event is a chance to do exactly that.
Join us in Milton Keynes for a welcoming, supportive day of conversation, learning and connection. Whether you're a stroke survivor, a carer, a family member or a friend, this is your space to explore life after stroke — honestly and openly.

Location: Hotel Latour, 400 Marlborough Gate, Milton Keynes, MK9 3FP

What to Expect:
The day will begin with registration from 10am, where you can settle in, enjoy some refreshments, and chat with others before the sessions begin. It’s a relaxed start with time to mingle and meet fellow attendees.
We’ll then hear from our inspiring keynote speaker, sharing their personal experience of stroke and what they’ve learned along the way.
Next, you’ll take part in your first interactive discussion session — chosen by you during registration — on topics ranging from fatigue and aphasia to returning to work, carers’ support, and more.
Afterwards, we’ll break for lunch (included in your ticket), giving everyone time to recharge, connect, and enjoy informal conversations with others who truly understand what life after stroke is like.
In the afternoon, you’ll join your second chosen discussion session, followed by a chance to explore the exhibition space, relax, or ask questions.
There will be refreshments available throughout the day, and our team will be on hand if you need any assistance. We’ll also have quiet spaces available for rest or downtime whenever you need it.
Interactive Discussion Groups:
These include:
- Living with Aphasia
- Fatigue
- Work after stroke
- Legal advice
- Carers Support
- Peer Support & Community
You will choose which two sessions you wish to attend at checkout.
Meet our Keynote Speaker: Anthony Bryan
Anthony’s stroke journey began at age six after brain tumour surgery left him with hemiplegia. Now a fitness coach and adaptive athlete, he holds the Guinness World Record for the fastest marathon run with hemiplegia.
Anthony brings powerful personal and professional insight into the realities of stroke recovery, motivation, and pushing past limits.
Interested in Attending?
Whether you’re looking to learn something new, meet others, or simply feel part of a wider community — we hope you’ll leave feeling heard, uplifted, and supported.
If you require a carer or partner to attend with you, they may do so free of charge, but their place must still be booked in advance. Email info@differentstrokes.co.uk to get a code for your carers place.
If the cost is a barrier to you attending, please get in touch and we will help best we can — we want these events to be as accessible as possible.
