Event description

Description

Our second Jam of 2019 takes place on 13th April from 10:30am - 2:30pm in our usual venue, The National Museum of Computing, Bletchley Park. Come and join us for all things Raspberry Pi.

We're Going Large!

It's going to be a big event for little computers. Milton Keynes Jam is expanding! The wonderful TNMoC ahave offered us two extra rooms, so we now have space for talks, vendors and a rest area for teas, coffees and snacks. We're also extending the length of the jam by an hour and shifting it forward by half-an-hour to match the new opening times at TNMoC.

As ever, we welcome anyone who owns a Raspberry Pi (or doesn't!) regardless of expertise. Are you not sure what to do next? Need some insipration? Want to see what others get up to with their Raspberry Pis? Come along to this meet up and get some answers.

Details of the final running order will be confirmed soon. We'll be having workshops and talks. Keep checking for more!

What is a Raspberry Jam?

Raspberry Jams are informal meet-ups for enthuiasts or those interested in the Raspberry Pi computer. Whether you're completly new to this little computer or a seasoned hacker, all are welcome to share projects, ideas, inspiration or just plain natter. Start your coding journey or plan your next robot build with us.

We encourage you to bring your projects for show 'n' tell. We'll provide Internet, power and space. Just let us know in advance if it's anything big/unusual/highly radioactive.

We'll soon announce details of workshops open to all.

Tickets are FREE but are required to gain entry and venue space is limited.

FAQs

Do I need to be a nerd/geek/l33t hacker/code-ninja?

NO. A Raspberry Jam is for everyone. If you're just curious and don't know where to start, there will be no shortage of people willing to advise and help. Jams are all about sharing knowledge.

How do I reserve my place for the workshop or talk?

Turn up nice and early and sign up on the day. :) Events will be first-come first-served.

How do I reserve a spot for my cool robot overlord project?

Drop us a line and let us know what you're bringing and we'll reserve some table space for you. We aim to provide power, wifi and wired Internet.

Do I get free entry into the Museum?

No, although we can often offer reduced rates for attendees. The Museum is open from noon and well worth a visit.

Do I have to be there at the start? Can I come and go?

The MK Raspberry Jam is a 'drop in' event, so please arrive when you wish and you may come and go as you please.

Are there refreshments?

We aim to offer water, hot drinks and snacks on a donation basis.

Are there ID or minimum age requirements to enter the event?

None at all, we welcome all ages and Jams are a great family event. However, small children must be accompanied at all times for their own safety.

What are my transport/parking options for getting to and from the event?

Free car parking is available on-site. Bletchley Park is a 5 minute walk from Bletchley train station (direct line to Euston) and 15 minutes from the bus station.

Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?

No, your name is fine.

Is my registration fee or ticket transferrable?

Yes.

Is it ok if the name on my ticket or registration doesn't match the person who attends?

Yes.

Note: Safeguarding of minors is an essential part of our operations. For more details see rpf.io/safeguarding.
