Event description


Information and support for parent carers, young people and children with a special educational need or disability aged 0 - 25yrs.

Come along and speak to services that can help, find information that you need, listen to talks by key speakers and attend workshops on areas of concern or interest.

The theme of our event is:

Good Partnerships – Improved Outcomes

Registration from 9:15
Workshops at 11:15 – 12:30 and 14:00 – 15:15 (event closes at 15:30)
Workshop and crèche places must be pre-booked to avoid disappointment

Workshops for Parent Carers

  • Dyspraxia/DCD (Developmental Coordination Disorder)
  • How schools manage behaviour positively
  • Help what can I do! How to identify and support behaviours of concern at home in the early years (2- 7yrs) with children who have ASD or SCD
  • SEN Support - the graduated approach
  • Working Together on School Attendance: What are the issues and how can we improve it?
  • Transition in health services - The Big Conversation
  • Time Matters - practical ideas to support children and young people (age 8 +) with understanding and using time concepts at school and at home.
  • ADHD awareness and supporting strategies

If you would like to listen to the speakers and take part in the workshops as well, there will be plenty of opportunity to visit the stands before the event finishes at 15:30.


09:15 - Registration, refreshments available, visit information stands

10:00 - Welcome and opening of event by the Mayor of Milton Keynes

10:10 - Speaker: Joe Price (Young Person) & Amanda (TA) will talk about good partnerships between family and school

Followed by a dance performance by Spectrum Arts

11:15 - Workshops

12:30 - Lunch, visit information stands

14:00 - Workshops

15:15 - Workshops finish, visit information stands

15:30 - Event finish
