Mind Over Machine: Using GenAI to Boost Thinking

Join us for this interactive workshop designed to show you how you can use AI to enhance your thinking.

There is a common fear that Generative AI will make us ‘stupid’ by replacing our cognitive efforts with automation. But what if, instead of simply saving you time, AI could enhance the way you think?

This workshop will demonstrate how GenAI can enhance meta-learning, critical thinking, and analytical skills. Through hands-on activities you will engage with customised AI tools designed for this session, exploring how they can enhance different types of thinking, including:

• How GenAI can help you identify the most effective way for you to learn new concepts or theories
• How AI-generated misinformation can serve as a tool for training your sensitivity to disinformation
• How GenAI can help you refine your communication and decision making by examining how different audiences might perceive them.

If you are joining this session please come along with your phone and ensure you have the ChatGPT app installed in advance.

You do not need any prior knowledge of AI to enjoy this event. 

Workshop facilitator

Dr Barbara Piotrowska is a Lecturer in Public Policy in the Faculty of Social Science & Public Policy, King’s College London. Her research focuses on the incentives faced by bureaucrats, with a particular focus on authoritarian states and states undergoing regime transitions. She has spent the past two years integrating GenAI into teaching and assessment, focusing on its practical applications in education. Her work includes a project funded by the King’s College Teaching Fund, which provided students with access to a ChatGPT subscription to explore the potential of AI in Education.
