University of Lincoln, Tuesday 26 January 2016

Speakers:

  • Andrew Stevenson, Director of Research & Enterprise, University of Lincoln
  • Professor Carl Perrin, Director, Institute for Advanced Manufacturing and Engineering, Coventry University (A Unipart and Coventry University collaboration)

University Alliance (UA) is collaborating with the University of Lincoln to deliver a workshop on how to best support STEM-related employer engagement with universities in the region.

The University of Lincoln is recognised for its pioneering approach to employer engagement, winning a Lord Stafford Award and a Times Higher Education Award. It has also been named among the UK’s best modern universities in the Times and Sunday Times Good University Guide 2016, ranking in the top 15.

This event follows the recent publication of the UA’s research report, Mind the gap – engaging employers to secure the future of STEM in higher education.

About the workshop

The workshop will offer university staff with an interest in STEM and employer engagement the opportunity to come together and discuss the findings of Mind the Gap and how they relate to their own work. Participants will leave with a deeper knowledge of how to implement and develop employer engagement in higher education STEM and the benefits it brings.

Each event will feature a series of case studies that showcase good practice in STEM-based employer engagement. There will also be an interactive session run by the Higher Education Academy to introduce their Embedding Employability in Higher Education Framework.

University Alliance brings together a group of universities with a common mission to make the difference to their cities and regions. We use our experience of providing high quality teaching and research with real world impact to shape higher education and research policy for the benefit of our students and business and civic partners. We innovate together, learn from each other and support every member to transform lives and deliver growth. Find out more at www.unialliance.ac.uk

The event is part of the University of Lincoln’s HEFCE funded Catalyst project.

Deadline for registration: Friday 15 January 2016
