More about the presenters:

Menzies Law, our hosts for this event, are a leading Bristol law firm specialising in employment law, including equal pay, equalities and discrimination. In 2015 the firm launched its range of Gender Pay Gap Services, bringing together the skills and experience of specialist employment lawyers with those of a highly-regarded Pay & Reward professional. Since then, Menzies has conducted bespoke equal pay audits, gender pay gap reviews and gender pay gap ‘sense checks’ for numerous businesses and institutions of all sizes. Where follow-up action is needed, Menzies can support with job evaluation schemes, as well as amending pay policies and contractual terms and conditions. As thought leaders in the field they’ve shared the stage with leading academics and worked with trade organisations and campaign groups to increase understanding and awareness of pay equality. Joanne Sefton, Menzies’ speaker for this event, is a barrister with 15 years’ experience in equality and discrimination law and one of the key people in Menzies Pay & Reward team. She is passionate about helping organisations to understand the difference between their gender pay gap and their equal pay risk, and about supporting smaller businesses to focus on substance rather than process in order to get an approach to HR and employment law approach that’s right for them.

Gapsquare is a leading provider of gender pay gap analysis. Led by Dr. Zara Nanu, Gapsquare has developed a cloud based software which brings together science and diversity expertise to address the gender pay gap. The tool is aligned to support companies with the Equality Act 2010 (Gender Pay Gap Information) Regulations 2017 and produces instant reports with key reporting figures, insights into the gender pay gap, and data driven recommendations which can help narrow the gender pay gap. The World Economic Forum estimates it will take 117 years to close the gender pay gap. At Gapsquare we believe that by using science and technology we can skip a century of inequality.

Caroline Arnolds, IoD Bristol Commitee member and career coach for women in business.
