About this event

"Mind the Gap" aims to introduce you to university life before it starts. You probably have a mixture of feelings about starting in September, and some of these feelings may be intensified because you also have a mental health condition. We want to help make your transition as enjoyable as possible. This 3 day programme aims to help you to become familiar with the university's support systems so you know who to contact if the need arises. There will be a range of workshops led by members of our specialist team, as well as speakers from a range of different services across the university. You will also have the opportunity to set up support before starting your course, so that you are equipped with the academic support you need. In order to set up support, we will need some medical evidence from you. Medical evidence needs to be a document written by a doctor that highlights your diagnosis. It needs to be dated within the last year.

This will all become clearer during the event and we really look forward to meeting you there.

Please book your place by ordering a ticket to this free event. The deadline for registration is Monday 7th September at midday. We will send you joining instructions and a full timetable after this time. Ideally, we'd love you to attend the whole three day programme but if you can't, please register for the full three days anyway and you can dip in and out if needed.
