This session will enable learners to gain an understanding of the wider social factors of today that can influence and have an impact on our young people’s mental health & wellbeing.
We'll explore the value and benefit of sports and physical activity on health and wellbeing, we'll also look at pressures around performance and competition, and the importance of finding the balance and benefits of healthy competition for young people, without adversely affecting mental health & wellbeing.
The session will also touch on:
- Common mental health concerns and how they may present in young people.
- Neurodiversity – what to consider & helpful approaches
- Guidance & interventions to support young people.

Sports volunteers, staff and coaches working with children and young people, across Greater Manchester.
Tea/Coffee & Sandwiches will be provided.
