About this event

In the Western world, mindfulness and positive psychology have received great attention in the recent decade. However, it has been practised across the globe for centuries! It’s not only applicable on a personal level, but you can also use it in the workplace.

In the recent CIPD report, stress alone has been found to increase absence in 76% of organisations (CIPD, 2022). Recent research has found that mindfulness can significantly reduce stress, improve well-being and decrease absenteeism in the workplace, proving it to be a great tool to implement (Bartlett et al., 2019; Passmore, 2019; Sawyer et al., 2022).

Whether you are an employee or a manager, you can make use of tools and theory behind the concepts on a day to day basis to experience a positive impact on well-being. In this online event you can expect to learn about:

  • What is mindfulness?
  • Learn about how to dive into mindful activities such as the practice of mindful journaling
  • Tips on how to develop a growth mindset
  • Information about the Happiness@Work project and how you can make use of the materials developed

We will be diving into hands-on activities with our experienced facilitator Michele Lockwood-Edwards (B.A. Hons., P.G.C.E. Cantab., M.Sc. M.Sc, MCIPD, FHEA), who has over 20 years experience working in learning and development, action learning, coaching, mentoring and consultancy.
