About this event
Mindful Beginner’s Crochet Workshop✨ Friday 3rd October 2025 | 5 to 8pm ✨
In collaboration with The George Payne Pub, Hove, discover the calming art of crochet in this beginner friendly workshop where you will learn how to make a beautiful small clutch using sustainable, recycled t-shirt yarn. No experience is needed, just an open mind and a willingness to create with your hands.
Crochet is more than craft, it is a practice in presence. The gentle rhythm of looping yarn and building stitches invites a meditative flow that soothes the nervous system, eases stress, and brings a sense of deep relaxation. Making with our hands also activates the senses, which I have found especially beneficial as someone who is neurodiverse. This practice offers grounding, focus, and comfort through tactile engagement, making it a beautiful way to support both wellness and creativity.
🍃 The only textile art that cannot be made by machine, crochet is a celebration of patience, presence, and creativity. Every piece is uniquely handmade, carrying the imprint of the person who created it.
You’ll walk away with
👜 A unique, handmade clutch to take on every occasion
📄 A curated crochet pattern to recreate the project at home
We’ll be crafting in the covered & heated sunroom out back — just head to the garden when you arrive!
✨ Spaces are limited ✨Reserve your place early for a discounted ticket price.
This workshop, offered as part of the Brighton Wellness Festival’s fringe events, is an invitation to experience creativity as wellness and to carry home both a handmade bag and a sense of calm.
