Mindful Communication - Part II (GV: Masterclass)
When it comes to personal development, ‘mindfulness’ seems the buzzword of the moment with doctors now prescribing 6-week courses and practitioners aplenty at wellbeing centres across the country.
But how do you apply ‘mindfulness’ in our everyday interactions with others, and for what benefits?
Following the success and demand for the 'Mindful Communications' session we ran in November, we welcome back Jayaraja* to the Bocabar on Monday 26th January from 5.30pm for an extended re-run of his masterclass in 'non-violent communication' (aka. Mindful Communication).
The workshop will be a practical exploration of ‘Mindful Communication’, a model developed to facilitate more open and skilful interactions, exploring the nature of empathy, and how to express ourselves honestly and sensitively with one another.
The skills learned on this workshop will help transform your interactions with co-workers, customers, loved ones and complete strangers alike - albiet our 3 hours session will barely scratch the surface of this deeply fascinating topic.
Jayaraja's style tends to be playful and empathetic yet direct, pragmatic, insightful and immediate.
Be prepared to participate and taken outside your comfort zone - cos that's where the fruit is to be found!
This event is offered as a gift, trusting that if people enjoy and value what is offered that they will freely give Jayaraja the resources to continue to contribute. He simply asks that people give what they would enjoy giving. By way of suggestion anywhere between £10 - £50 would be suitable but choice is entirely yours and you're certainly not 'expected' to give if you do not wish to do so.
If you wish to eat something, please arrive early and do so at your own leisure before the workshop officially starts at 6pm prompt in the back room at the Bocabar.
I hope to see you there - and feel free to invite as many co-workers, customers or contacts as you wish!
*Jayaraja is a legend in the Triratna Buddhist community. He has amassed an impressive 10,000+ hours of meditation, trained with the likes of Marshall Rosenberg (Non-Violent Communication) and Dan Siegel, co-written two related books, practices Gestalt psychotherapy and is highly acclaimed for his infamous ‘skilful flirting’ workshops, amongst many others!
This event is open for anyone to attend.
This event will be held in the back room at the Bocabar and numbers will be
capped at 40.

When & Where
What is 'Curious Conversations'?
Curious Conversations is a monthly meeting in which like-minded brains unpack big ideas together. It has also been likened to a 'Knowledge Cafe' which seems to fit well.
Plenty of networking is untaken but it's a bi-product of any Conversation not the focus.
As of 2017, the most popular 'Conversations' will now be made available as Curious 'Classes' enabling participants to go deeper and work in smaller groups for greater value.
Every so often, we will also venture into the unknown and entertain ourselves with the odd 'Cosmic' Conversations too, just in case our humble little gatherings weren't curious enough!
When are meetings held?
'Conversations' meetings are held on the 2nd Monday of every month from 5.30 - 8.30pm, unless otherwise stated.
'Classes' will be made available at the convenience of those wishing to attend.
How much does it cost to attend?
'Conversations' are free to attend. Many of us choose to eat whilst meeting and agree to split the bill equally between us per table but you are very willing to attend and not eat if this is your wish.
The only exception to this is rule is our annual summer social, Camp Curious.
'Classes' will be made available on a suggested donation basis.
Who is this for?
Whether Curious 'Conversations' or 'Classes', we tend to attract and cater for for those inquisitive folk seeking a deeper understanding of everything concerning life and business and more wholesome, wholehearted connections both personally and professionally.
