About this event

Health • Personal health

At this 16+ session, we are all equal, there's no dress code, bad hair days are accepted and those feeling isolated and hankering for connection are warmly welcomed. We are inclusive of age, gender identity and neurodiversity.

This is a dropin, running monthly. Come when you like. To keep it accessible please make a charitable donation on the day that reflects your ability to pay. £1-£10 appreciated.

So what is Mindful Dotty Art?

It's a gentle mindfulness practice incorporating meditation and dot mark making. Much of the session is silent.

Come, relax and enjoy yourself. This practice can help relieve worries, stress and anxiety, aiding feelings of wellbeing. It is designed to raise self awareness, concentration and creativity. Dot making is a simple repetative movement.

What will I do at this class?

After a warm welcome, choose your favorite paint colours and some dotting tools, help yourself to a cuppa and settle into a seat. There's 10 minutes for introductions and instruction, followed by a 5 minute guided meditation and 35 minutes silent mindful dotting. You'll then be invited to share your work and journey during the last 10 minutes (this is not compulsory).

You don’t need to be artistic, it’s all about getting into flow and we reckon you’ll be delighted with your creations. The idea is not to think too much, it’s not about the outcome. Just take one step and see where it takes you. Let the journey unfold as you lose yourself in the moment, one dot at a time.

We welcome you and offer you a safe place for nurturing your intuitive process, this is both healing and beautiful. Its an opportunity to connect with yourself and others in the community.

You will leave with a new skills for relaxation, an uplifting sense of achievement, a quietened mind and an astonishing piece of upcycled art.

Please dont wear precious clothes as paint has a habit of travelling.

There are two steps up to the venue with hand bars and 12 steps down to the toilets.

Feel free to ask questions, here to help.

Booking, though helpful to manage numbers, is not essencial, just turn up.
