Event description
Are you struggling to change your eating habits after bariatric surgery? Join us to explore how mindful eating can help.

About this Event

Bariatric surgery is an excellent tool for weight loss and health. After surgery, it is often a relief to feel less physically hungry. However, we all eat for a myriad of reasons that are not always about physical hunger and long-established habits of snacking, grazing or eating to soothe difficult emotions can be difficult to change.

We are clinical psychologists who have worked for many years with people who have had bariatric surgery. In this half day workshop, we will introduce you to some mindfulness techniques and mindful eating practices all designed to enhance your health and well-being. This is not a diet and you will not leave a set of “rules” about what not to eat. Instead, you will learn or re-learn how to notice and respond to different types of hunger, both physical and emotional. You will discover how to eat the foods you enjoy without overeating and ultimately how to look after yourself with kindness and compassion.
