Do mealtimes sometimes feel like a minefield?

Mindful eating can help you achieve your ideal weight, relax any difficult relationships with food and enhance your ability to make positive choices without feleling under pressure . It therefore means that we simply relax and enjoy food more!

In this workshop, you can discover how to turn each mealtime into a mindful meditation:

  • feel more connected to yourself, your food and the world around you
  • reconnect with the simple pleasure of nourishing yourself
  • develop an open, flexible and relaxed relationship with food
  • build the confidence you need to find your own way through the maze of nutritional advice

This informal, inspiring evening is packed with practical tips and accompanied by information for you to take away. It is suitable for complete beginners as well as those wishing to refresh their existing mindfulness practice: we welcome teenagers and adults, men and women.

 PLEASE BRING ALONG SOME FOOD THAT YOU LIKE TO EAT!  There are no cooking facilities at the venue, so please choose something ready prepared to share with others. This will give you a direct experience of how enjoyable mealtimes can be. If you would like to discuss what to bring, feel free to email as this is not a cookery competition!  So for example a pre-prepared salad, a quiche or sandwiches and some fruit would be perfectly adequate.

The event will be hosted by Katie Sheen, a nutritional therapist who has taught on Diploma and Masters degree courses, trained health professionals and run numerous events for the public. Her style is light, fun and fills you with confidence to enjoy food without guilt or anxiety. Raised in the hospitality industry, she knows that food should be something to celebrate!

Katie has been practising mindfulness in her own life for over 16 years and continues to study mindful living in the tradition of Zen Buddhist Master Thich Nhat Hanh, though her events are suitable for those of all faiths or none.
