Event description
Walk, talk, meditate and make in this relaxing session which takes you outside and in for a lovely morning of crafting and mindfulness.

About this Event

Walk, talk, gather, collect and then create and share coffee and cakes - a relaxing morning in good company with the emphasis on relaxation, mindfulness and mental well-being.

These wonderful creative sessions have been developed by teacher, artist and maker Nicola Murray of Spongetree and involve both an outside and inside element.

We will meet at the bandstand in Myrtle Park, Bingley at 10.30am. Following introductions, Nicola will walk with you through the lovely park, collecting natural materials which you will use later to create a nature-inspired art work. Each of these monthly sessions will focus on a different project but have one thing in common: both are designed to boost your mental well-being and relaxation.

After you have gathered some natural materials, you will come to The Craft House and work in our first floor workshop space* to create a natural project. The cost of the workshop session includes your choice of a warm drink and cake from our ground floor cafe.

At the start of the inside session, Nicola will lead you through a short guided meditation and you will then create a natural project in a multi-sensory way.

There will be chance to chat and also to reflect as you make your project and also to enjoy a warm drink and a cake from our lovely cafe.

At the end of the session Nicola will finish with another short guided meditation.

(*please note that this workshop involves meeting outdoors and walking in the local park initially, so weather-appropriate clothing and footwear will be needed, including stout shoes with a good grip. The walk around the park will be gentle and then you will stroll back to the Craft House, which is about 5 minutes' walk from the Park's Victorian bandstand. When you arrive at The Craft House there are hand-sanitising facilities and you will be sent information about our Covid-safe procedures ahead of the workshop, if these continue to be required at the date of the workshop. Please note that our workshop space is on the first floor of the cafe and is accessed by stairs with a handrail and a break landing halfway up - we do not have a lift).

Cost: £30 per person (includes all materials and equipment and a warm drink and cake of your choice from our cafe).

Skill Level: suitable for all skill levels.
