Experience calm by combining mindfulness and movement.

Burn calories, tone your legs and build core strength.

Experience Mindful Motion @ the Chill Zone

Learn to integrate Mindfulness into your busy life through movement while enjoying the soothing music and mesmerising mood lighting. Then we step things up and get moving to the chillout beats.

This is a new paradigm in Mindfulness and Fitness!

Suitability

This workshop is aimed at beginners or those who have tried very basic Mindfulness meditation eg with the help of an app. It is also suitable for those practitioners who have already done a Mindfulness course and want to take their practice to the next stage, focusing on the more practical aspects of Mindfulness such as Mindful Walking and learn something more in-depth ie Mindful Motion.

The aim of this course

  • to learn and experience different Mindfulness exercises through movement

  • to learn how to apply Mindfulness in the busy, highly stressful 21st century world that we live in

  • to burn calories, build core strength and tone your legs

Dress code

Please wear loose clothing suitable for movement. Bring a bottle of water (drinking water is available) and a blanket for the final part of the session.

What is Mindfulness?

Mindfulness is the act of being in the present moment on purpose and without judgement. Or to put it simply, to just be in the moment. When you're in the moment, between your thoughts, you can achieve a sense of inner calm which helps to reduce stress and anxiety.

What is Mindful Motion?

Mindful Motion combines flowing movements from tai chi and yoga, and is practised by applying Mindfulness. It was developed to provide a more accessible version of tai chi and an alternative to seated meditation as a way of being in the moment.

Using the principles of isometric training and time under tension, we beat stress, burn calories and develop leg strength!

X steps up the pace moving to the beat.

Who is delivering the course?

Darren Yap, founder of Wimble Wellness, will be delivering the course. He has over 3 decades of experience of tai chi and meditation.

About the venue

Surbiton Hill Methodist Church is just next to the Fire Station on the A240 between Tolworth and Kingston. The classes are held in the Coffee Bar room up the stairs and to the left.
