Event description

Description

Do you struggle to find time for yourself? Parenthood is hard. You’re always on duty and it’s a constant juggling act: preparing meals, getting everyone to the right place at the right time, finding lost things, doing washing, and refereeing. Not to mention all the other things in your life demanding your attention.

The effort of keeping all theses plates spinning takes its toll on your physical and mental health. Mindful Movement is a fun, relaxing workshop which gives you space and time to focus on yourself. This is an opportunity for you to unplug and get some distance from family for a little while. A time for you to relax and reconnect.

What will you do?

  • Learn calming breathing exercises - a vital part of any parent’s toolkit!
  • Reduce tension. Take time to let go of stress.
  • Create stronger boundaries that you can maintain with confidence and integrity
  • Build confidence. Mindfulness helps you feel more confident in yourself and your actions.
  • Improve your self-leadership and express it so others see it and possibly emulate it.
  • Develop better communication skills to allow you to deal with stressful and potentially confrontational situations.
  • Feel the connection between body and mind. It’s easy to miss the impact of our mental and emotional load on our physical health in our busy lives.
  • Deepen your emotional intelligence.
  • Have fun! It’s an enjoyable class, you’ll leave feeling happy, relaxed and grounded.

There are no moves to remember or complex sequences to learn. This group workshop is interactive and full of practical things you can use in your everyday life, set in a confidential, non- judgemental and supportive environment. You are fully in control of how much you do during the class.

Mindful Movement is taught by life coach David Brown and uses techniques adapted from Aikido, meditation and life coaching practices.

Please note, as this workshop is aimed at giving you a break from daily life, including being pestered by your children, it is a child- free zone. Therefore you will need to make childcare arrangements.
