Mindful Photography - an introduction
Overview
Mindful Photography is the practice of slowing down, connecting with yourself, your environment and being fully present with what you are photographing. It’s all about finding where you’re drawn to look, without having to know why, with an emphasis on the process of photographing rather than the outcome. The impact on mental health and wellbeing is significant.
I will introduce you to a deep way of practicing Mindful Photography, as it’s approached from the Felt Sense, focusing on feelings and what's being embodied through your experience. This is an immersive and beautiful way to help you notice yourself more, de-stress in the moment and vastly improve your mental wealth. It will show you where you're at, what you need and what might change as a result - a phenomenal and compassionate route to self-care.
Understanding how to photograph this way has the potential for profound impact - it can help you powerfully reconnect to yourself and the world around you, invite you to be more present whilst leaning into your intuition, and offer a wonderfully meaningful tool to lead a more soul-directed life.
You don't need a big camera or any photographic knowledge - just come with your curiosity and whatever camera you have, smart phones are recommended.
