In this month’s evening we will be exploring how appreciating and engaging with sound and music can help us cultivate mindfulness. For this purpose we are delighted to welcome Amonn Al – Mahrouq, a classical musician, who will share with us two pieces of live classical saxophone music. The relaxed venue has stunning coastal views and the evening promises not only the opportunity to unwind, but also to learn some simple, life-enhancing mindfulness techniques that you can apply in daily life whenever you may need them.

The UK National Institute of Clinical Excellence (NICE) recently endorsed Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) as an approved therapy for the treatment of anxiety and depression. Regular mindfulness practice can lower stress, anxiety and depression, enhance our immune system, our creativity and emotional intelligence as well as increase our general sense of wellbeing.

The evening includes:

LIVE CLASSICAL SAXOPHONE, the psychology of mindfulness, DISCUSSION, group mindfulness practice, basic Qi Gung Exercises. Free organic fruit snacks and drinks will be available throughout the evening.

A Mindfulness CD will be AVAILABLE for purchase should you wish to support your own practice.

Facilitated by Robert Gebka who is a former Zen Buddhist monk and a mindfulness consultant & director of the Dorset Mindfulness Centre, now working in the mental health field for the NHS
&
Amonn Al-Mahrouq who is a classical musician (saxophone and piano) having studied at the prestigious Trinity College of Music, London. Amonn is also a double gold medallist in the Impaired Ice Skating Competition 2013
