What is Mindful Parenting?

The task of parenting is one of the most challenging, stressful, demanding, and rewarding jobs on the planet The reality of being a parent is that there will be many things you won’t be able to control, no matter how hard you try, plates will break, tears will be shed, and difficulties will inevitably occur life is not always predictable. Mindful parenting does not mean being a “perfect parent” but it helps us to be more aware of our own emotions without letting them trigger us into knee-jerk reactions, enabling us to respond more calmly when our children press our buttons throughout the day

What will the workshop cover?

The workshop will be delivered using our fun and interactive approach, based on experiential learning principles, designed to maximise audience participation, engagement and retention beyond the duration of the sessions

Areas covered wil include:

  • Specific strategies to promote good mental health and overall well-being for yourself and your child(ren) - Explore how mindful parenting can help you enjoy your family time instead of being anxious or easily provoked by your children into unhelpful reactions.

  • Strengthen the bond you share with your children and help them thrive and become happier, healthier, and more content in themselves

  • Approaches to help deal with an emotional storm - Discover important skills that will help you to nourish yourself and help you survive the difficult parenting moments through the day

  • Tools to help manage stress or anxiety and increase health and happiness

  • Integrating mindfulness with daily activities

Parents/carers who want to experience the joys of parenting more fully

How could I benefit?

It is very hard to think of what to do for yourself when things get tough. It is best to have a plan ready for when you need it. Think of it as your toolkit for daily living as opposed to a break glass in case of emergency.
