Mindfulness course, Oxford, Autumn 2013
The course comprises of two elements:
Evening sessions, Wednesday evenings, 16th October - 27th November 2013 6:30 -8:00 pm, at Restore, Manzil Way, off Cowley Road, Oxford, OX4 1YH
and also
A Whole Day of Mindfulness Practice, Saturday 23rd November 2013
10 am - 4 pm at The Friends' Meeting House, 43 St Giles, Oxford, OX1 3LW
Both the 7 evening sessions and the full day of practice are included in the course fee.
This eight session mindfulness course will be based on the book co-authored by Mark Williams and Danny Penman “Mindfulness - a Practical Guide to Finding Peace in a Frantic World”. Mindfulness can help us to manage stress and anxiety in a positive way, to cope with the pace and demands of modern life and to feel happier and healthier. The practices are simple to learn and can become part of every day activities such as eating, walking and breathing.
The course will be led by mindfulness teachers Alicia Gardner and Sophie Roberts
Additional Information
- We will be using the book “Mindfulness a Practical Guide to Finding Peace in a Frantic World” throughout the course and participants are asked to buy a copy before the course starts. If you buy an electronic edition of the book then do make sure that the audio tracks are included as we will be using these throughout the programme
- Home practice is an important part of the course and we suggest that you plan to allow 30 minutes each day for this
- The whole day of practice is an essential part of the programme so please make sure that you can come when you book
- The evening sessions will be held at Restore while the Day of Practice will be held at The Friends' Meeting House
