Event description

Description

There is a growing contemporary research evidence base suggesting that learning to be more compassionate towards ourselves and others can help over come depression, shame and self criticism. Many ancient traditions such as buddhism also knew this and teach the importance of training the mind in compassionate wisdom.

These 2 workshops will introduce the latest psychological research and theories about how the mind works and how we can train the mind to be more at peace with ourself, others and the world around us. We will practise some of the meditations and compassionate mind training exercises that can help us develop these skills to soothe the stresses of modern living.

Part 1: Tuesday 28th November 7pm-9pm

Part 2: Tuesday 5th December 7pm- 9pm

Dr Hannah Wilson is a consultant clinical psychologist registered with the Allied Health Professionals Council working in the NHS. She is a qualified CBT therapist accredited with the British Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Therapists.
