The Mindfulness Based Living Course (MBLC) is an 8-week program created by The Mindfulness Association and based on the work of international mindfulness teacher Rob Nairn. It is similar to other mindfulness based courses such as MBSR and MBCT but places a stronger emphasis on cultivating loving kindness and compassion for self and others.
The course (which includes a course manual, notes and audio recordings) takes place every Tuesday evening from 7-9pm between Oct 4th and Nov 22nd and includes a full-day retreat from 10am-4pm on Sunday 13th November.
The course provides a comprehensive introduction to mindfulness, with each lesson building on the one before, and aims to give participants an in-depth personal experience of mindfulness and a solid foundation on which to build a sustained personal practice and apply mindfulness to your daily life. .
The course is suitable for complete beginners or for those with an existing meditation practice who wish to deepen their experience - or perhaps incorporate the teachings of self-compassion and kindness into their practice.
MBLC is recognised by The UK Network of Mindfulness Based Teachers and meets The Good Practice Guidelines. To review some research on the effects of the 8-week MBLC course, click on the following link: http://mindfulnessassociation.net/MBLCResearch.asp
