About this event
Working with an experienced Mindfulness teacher can help you to establish your own regular meditation practice and experience its life-enhancing benefits for yourself. By forming new neural pathways in the brain, regular practice of Mindfulness can boost your enjoyment of life, create greater clarity and focus and strengthen emotional resilience when life throws us challenges.
This Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) 8-Week Course is run live online, over Zoom, with a session each week for eight weeks. It’s run in the same way as if you were in the room, with a combination of theory learning, discussion and practice, guided by me as your teacher. PLEASE NOTE: it is not possible to join this course after it has already started.
You will learn:
- The key principles of living mindfully
- Some core meditation techniques which will help to reduce stress, build resilience and foster a greater sense of wellbeing
- How to cultivate awareness and get less caught up in negative mind chatter and unhelpful automatic reactions to stress
- How to incorporate mindfulness into your daily life- not just during formal meditation practice
- Ideas on how you can begin to develop your own practice.
As well as the 8 live online sessions, you will also receive:
- A Course Book
- Written exercises to help deepen your experience of mindful awareness
- Guided meditation recordings in MP3 format.
You will be encouraged to share your experience of the meditations and what you noticed in each session. Although it isn’t compulsory, you will find it helpful to talk it through. The course provides a safe and supportive environment for you to explore your experience.
Each session builds on the one before so it is important to attend all the sessions and to practice the meditations between sessions in order to get the most benefit out of the course.
Course times & dates:
The course starts on Feb 1st 2022 at 8am to 10.30 am GMT and runs weekly at the same time for 8 weeks. There will also be a Half Day Retreat (also in Zoom) on Saturday March 19th from 9am to 2pm.
