About this course

This introduction explains what Mindfulness is and how to incorporate it into your own life. Through discussions, activities, and guided meditations, you will learn how to be more aware of how to live in the present moment. Mindfulness has been proven to be greatly beneficial for our health and Well-Being, it will help with your own self-esteem, showing you ways of how to relax, having a clearer mind and is significantly beneficial for stress relief, covering the 5 senses – Sight-Taste-Hearing-Touch-Smell, linked to how we use our brains to process and learn.

By participating in this course, you will learn how to be more mindful in our thoughts, actions and everyday activities and how to incorporate it into your own life. You will be aware of how to live in the present moment, how to relax, have a clearer mind to focus and how to reduce stress and anxiety. We will also explore how we use our brains to process and learn.

Resources required:

  • A drink – water or juice
  • Notebook and pen
  • A cushion
  • A blanket or wrap
  • Comfortable clothes
  • 2nd week a RAISINand anything else you like and can eat,
  • 3rd week an objectto look at,
  • 4th week 4 items tofeel / touch such as something - soft / hard / cold / warm,
  • 5th week selectionof containers to hold a cotton wool ball or pad or tissue with a scent on itsuch as - lemon, vinegar, herbs, lavender, orange, coffee etc

To book and enrol on one of our courses, you must have been living in England and have been resident in the UK for the past 3 years.

Some exceptions may apply if you are living in England with evidence of the right to remain and are from an EEU/EEAU country (completion of a questionnaire will be required). As we no longer receive funding for our ESFA-funded courses for learners living in the devolved areas listed below, full cost fees would apply to these courses if you live in these areas:
