A four-week course, following the structure of the book Mindfulness for Creativity by Dr Danny Penman.
Creativity isn’t just for ‘creatives’ – everyone wants to be creative – find new ways when the old ways don’t work. Whether it’s planning a holiday, writing a best man speech, buying Christmas presents that people will treasure, we all want to find ways to do things that are different.
You might think mindfulness is all about sitting crosslegged and making your mind blank – how is a blank mind going to help?Mindfulness is about learning to direct your attention, and your attention is your life!
Over these four weeks you’ll learn to calm your mind, then to choose the right mental toolkit for the task in hand – whether it’s researching your options or daydreaming to let new ideas emerge.
You’ll discover more clarity and insight about where new ideas come from, and also the resilience to handle criticism from others and from yourself.
You’ll learn how to counteract old habits and build new ones that support your creativity.
And don’t worry if you’ve tried to meditate and not managed it – there’s much more to this than meditation.
We’ll support each other during our sessions and between sessions in our online community
