Event description

Description

Do you suffer from persistent pain, illness, injury or any other condition such as chronic fatigue or stress that has affected your health? If so, this may well be the course for you.

This course has been carefully designed to include all aspects of mindfulness which will help you to improve your quality of life and your health.

Aspirational Living is working in partnership with Breathworks and in June 2017 we are delivering our first 8 week course in the North East region. We have limited places for this course and as it’s our first practice course we’d like to offer you a discounted price of £50 per person if you book before 25th May 2017 for the entire course – RRP £225. The £50 is merely to cover the venue hire and materials – you will not be charged for the tutor’s planning and delivery time.

I myself suffer with ME and this course has personally helped me to change my relationship with pain and suffering. My outlook in life and my perspective has dramatically improved and now I’m happy to say I’m living mindfully and as a result of this I feel happier, healthier and have a real zest for life again.

The course will help you to;

  • Understand how to manage pain, illness and fatigue in daily life.
  • Understand how to develop an understanding of the ‘boom and bust’ model.
  • Understand and explore your patterns with pain, emotion, behaviour and mindset.
  • Develop an understanding of the pacing model and how to build this into your daily life.
  • How to develop emotional resilience and understand the difference between primary and secondary suffering.
  • How to breathe into the present moment and find choice.
  • Breath and body awareness.
  • Gentle mindful movement and relaxation
  • Mindfulness meditation practice, including cultivating kindliness towards yourself and empathy for others.

The course will start on Friday 16th June 2017 and will finish on 4th August 2017. It will be held in The Health Hub in Yarm from 1-3pm every Friday for 8 weeks.

The dates are as follows;16th June, 23rd June, 30th June, 7th July, 14th July, 21st July, 28th July and 4th August 2017.

This is a first come first served basis and places are going fast due to the heavily reduced price. If you have some kind of health issue or pain and aren’t sure if mindfulness is for you, just come along I promise you, you won’t regret it!

Testimonials

“I can’t thank you enough for the techniques I learned which I can use in my daily life and can apply whenever I choose to whenever I want to.’

CH, 26, muscular pain

“I have found the relaxation particularly useful, especially for secondary pain caused by tension. Mindfulness has been a revelation! I wish this…could be more widely available to people in a similar situation.”

CH, 52, Arthritis in thoracic spine

“I did the Breathworks pain management course which helped me cope with the problems of having an arthritic spine. The skills and insights I learnt really came to the fore when I had a stroke. They helped me deal with the shock and trauma of having a stroke and to adjust to the life changes a stroke brings.”

FR, 65, Arthritis and stroke

“Although I found the Mindfulness of Breathing and Kindly Awareness meditations very difficult to do, it has made me very aware that these have to be included in my everyday life to enable me to cope with my pain and also get positive.”

MB, 54, Back pain, arthritis, ME, depression

“It has been the best help for me without a doubt, not only my husband has noticed the difference in me but others have mentioned that I seem different.”

JO, 52
