Try a mindful walk to calm your mind, and make you more aware of life. Right. Now.

About this Event

Have you ever been on a walk - either alone or with a group - and missed lots of things along the way? Perhaps you didn't see that special tree. Or maybe you don't recall what wildlife or plants from your walk either.

I remember one such walk many years ago. I was walking alone in a very quiet part of the Lake District. I didn't see a soul. Yet it was the busiest walk I'd ever had. I couldn't really say what I had seen. Why? Because I was caught up in my thoughts and worries I had at the time.

This is where mindfulness can be really useful. With practise, it can help calm your mind, and make you more aware of life. Right. Now. It heightens your senses making colours more vibrant, enhancing beautiful birdsong, and intensifying the perfume of flowers. Combined with the benefits of being in nature too, mindful walking is a really potent way of making you feel more alive.

The views from Ravenscar are simply stunning. The walk route meanders along a coastal stretch, stopping in woods and at a peaceful pond. We saw so many dragonflies and other pond life here last time. It really is a beautiful spot. Participants from the last walk didn't want to leave!
