Monday 22nd May 2017 (9.30–11.30am)
Monday 9th October 2017 (9.30–11.30am)
There is an enhanced approach to mindfulness, which combines some of the best of the recent developments in psychological therapies. Mindful self-compassion (MSC) combines the skills of mindfulness and self-compassion to enhance our capacity for emotional well-being within the workplace. Self-compassion entails being warm and understanding towards ourselves when we suffer, fail, or feel inadequate, rather than ignoring our pain or heavily criticising ourselves and feeling unduly ashamed.
During the breakfast event, participants will:
gain a knowledge of the mindful self-compassion approach
engage in simple exercises and discussion
understand how we may become more compassionate towards ourselves and others.
The event is suitable for participants who are familiar with mindfulness, have undertaken previous training and would like a taster of this approach to add to their repertoire of well-being skills. This is part of Practice Solutions' well-being programme "Building a healthier and more resilient workforce".
Unhappy people don’t leave organisations; they leave their managers. Well-being shapes the quality of our working lives and colours how we live well. In an everchanging world, organisations must now realise that the well-being of their workforce should be one of their top three priorities.
