Cultivating Happiness

This retreat is an opportunity to allow more joy, appreciation and compassion into your life. We will draw on the work of Rick Hanson, Paul Gilbert and Chris Germer focusing on developing the skills for happiness. The retreat will include sitting meditation, mindful walking and mindful movement; practices to support you in creating the conditions for a rich and full life. Experience a peaceful, nourishing weekend in a beautiful woodland setting.

Fee: £240 (includes accommodation and food), single supplement £80, (Subscribing members 20% discount)

Who’s the retreat for?
The retreat is suitable for people who have completed an 8-week course in mindfulness or who have an established meditation practice.

Who are the facilitators?
Vicki Worsley is an experienced meditator, counsellor, teacher and trainer. She trained in mindfulness with Jon Kabat-Zinn (USA), Thich Nhat Hanh (France) and at Bangor University. Vicki has attended Mindful Self-Compassion training with Christopher Germer and Kristin Neff. She has an MA in Buddhist Studies from Bristol University.

The venue
Felinganol is a forest eco-retreat and studio space surrounded by trees and a stream. It is near Mwnt beach and Cardigan town, West Wales. Close to the Pembrokeshire coastal path it’s located amongst beaches, valleys and forestlands. The circular meditation studio has been hand-built using straw-bale and lime by using local natural materials. Accommodation
Accommodation is in the farmhouse and in the newly built wooden cabins with access to eco-friendly showers and toilet facilities. There is space for up to 12 people. It is possible for one or two people to camp.

Fees
The retreat fee includes teachings, food and shared accommodation. There’s a supplement of £80 for a single cabin. There is a discount of 20% for Mindful Space Members.

Meals
Meals are all included. The food is vegetarian. Felinganol says, ‘We cater from both our own organic gardens (making our own jams and chutneys etc) and from the wonderful local organic smallholding catering company ‘Our Two Acres’. We aim to source from local organic producers whenever possible e.g. our sourdough, rye breads, cheeses and honey all come from local makers.’ Get in touch regarding any food allergies or diets.

Silence
There will be opportunities to talk at the beginning and end of the retreat. Most of the weekend will be in silence.

Equipment
Please bring cushions for the meditation practice. We suggest you wear loose, comfortable clothes and bring several layers.

Content
The retreat will include sitting and walking meditation, mindful movement, input and discussion.

Schedule
The retreat will run from 6pm on Friday 21 June until mid-afternoon Sunday 23 June. You’re welcome to arrive from 5pm on the Friday.

FAQs

What's the cancellation policy?
If you cancel before 21 May the cancellation fee will be £100. If you cancel after 21 May the cancellation fee will be the full amount paid.

Is my registration fee transferrable?

It's not possible to transfer this registration to another event. You will need to cancel this booking and then rebook on the new event.
