Take a break from your desk or from the stress of the day and join us for a calming Mindfulness Meditation Session.

Mindfulness can help you to:

* relax your body and mind. * deal with stress

* help with sleeping difficulties * improve your health and wellbeing


What is mindfulness?
Mindfulness is a method of mind training with roots in ancient eastern traditions. It aims at
cultivating the ability to stay present with internal experiences in a non-judgmental,
embracing way.


How can mindfulness help me in my day to day life?
Through the continued practice a mindfulness, you train your mind to become more present
on a day-to-day basis. That makes you more able to recognise internal sensations, as well
as thoughts and feelings that arise and be less affected by them. In time, as the practice
ripens, you become less attached/repelled by things that are going on internally and
therefore, you will feel more relaxed, present, compassionate, less distracted, and with an
increased general sense of well-being.


Are there any risks associated with the practice?
Mindfulness meditation is considered safe and there are minimal risks associated with it.
The only times when mindfulness is discouraged is during times of severe mental distress,
when you may feel unable to openly confront some of the thoughts or feelings that you may
have. As mindfulness involves staying present with all sorts of internal sensations, feelings,
thoughts, you must feel able to confront these openly. It is important that you
discontinue the practice temporarily in case you are undergoing severe mental
distress that you feel unable to stay fully present with! Once the distress has passed, you can safely resume your meditation practice.
