John Rennie, a Mindfulness Teacher, has agreed to come to the South Essex Group meeting to talk to us about what this is.
Mindfulness is a form of mediation: it can be defined as bringing attention to the present moment, intentionally and without judgement. We all have the ability to enter a state of mindfulness – it is a basic human quality, a way of being and a way of learning to pay wise attention to whatever is happening in your life. It allows you a greater sense of connection to your life inwardly and outwardly. Mindfulness is also a practice, a systematic method aimed at cultivating clarity, insight and understanding. It’s a great way of reducing stress by teaching you how to use it to help relaxation.
Worklife Balance: what stops you from achieving it?
Darren Curtis is the Director of Worklife Balance Solutions, author of “I’m a parent get me out of here before I kill my Teenager”.
The father of two and a life coach will talk to us about work/life balance. What stops you from achieving it and more importantly how you can choose to create happiness and success in all areas of your life? “Our greatest confusion isn’t that we don’t know what to do, it’s knowing exactly what to do and still not doing it!”
The event is free to attend but for catering purposes please book in advance and cancel your booking if you are unable to attend.
The event is being held in room HE Area 1 in the Forum. The Forum is opposite the usual location, South East Essex College, for South East Essex Group events.
