Mindset And Chronic Illness - How To Find Harmony
Event Information
About this Event
Bristol Women’s Voice is a Bristol-based charity working to make women’s equality in Bristol a reality. We make sure that when key decisions are taken in the city women’s voices have been heard and their concerns acted upon. We work to increase awareness of women’s rights and to make sure services meet women’s needs. We bring women together to share ideas and experiences, support campaigns and celebrate success so that together we can make Bristol a showcase for women’s involvement, empowerment and equality.
This International Women’s Day we are unable to bring you our usual event at City Hall due to the pandemic, so have taken this opportunity to organise a week-long programme of online events! We’ve got an eclectic mix of workshops, talks, films and panel discussions, playlists and more. Head to our website for a full programme www.bristolwomensvoice.org.uk
You can also become a member of Bristol Women’s Voice or donate to support our work on the website.

During this session I will talk you through the simple steps that I use everyday to improve my mindset when living with a chronic health condition. We’ll explore what it means to feel gratitude for a body that doesn’t seem to obey you and why it’s important. We’ll talk about creating our own affirmations that actually make sense to someone with chronic pain and fatigue. During the session we will delve into how creativity can give meaning to your life and why that’s particularly important for those with ill health. Lastly, I will guide you through a visualisation that I use regularly to help me feel connected with those around me - which gives meaning, support and a sense of love.
We will chat, explore and ask questions about what it means to have a good mindset for someone with a chronic condition. And why that doesn’t mean that you must always be ‘positive’.
Please bring a pen and a piece of paper with you. There will be a few (easy) exercises.
