MINI 5 day MBA HEALTH Summer School 10-14July 2017

The International Academy of Medical Leadership are working in collaboration with Worcester University to support you to access an MBA Health as your leadership award of choice. You can bring in your previous PgCert Clinical /Medical Leadership credit which will be mapped against the MBA learning outcomes. You can then take up to six years to complete your MBA award, but you decide the pace of your study. We understand that during your career as a doctor or health professional you will access a range of different leadership courses over time and will already have achieved leadership, management and quality improvement learning. We promise to help you to achieve Recognition of Prior Learning for previous current learning and to help you to build on this experience to make learning relevent and useful to you. All of of our teaching on the MBA is based on Quality Improvement methodology and taught by clinicians with an MBA or MSc leadership awards.
WHAT IS A MINI MBA?
We offer you the opportunity to study the core subjects of an MBA as an introduction to Leadership and Management within a 5 day summer school. The subjects are: Quality Impovement & Patient Safety; Operations Management; Leadership Development; Teams and Effective Team working; Strategy; Change Management; Marketing and Finance. After attendance at the summer school we will signpost you to additional learning materials to help you to finalise your Pg Cert/PgDip portfolio to submit for Recognition of Prior Learning. This could take up to 18 months - 2 years after completion at the summer school, but the time line is completely managed by you.
The final year of the MBA provides you with a three year period of registration to undertake your dissertation and research methods module. The cost of registration of the final year of the MBA will be approximately £3,600
This MINI MBA will give you:
1. A face to face or skype tutorial to help you to map your previous learning to MBA modlue learning outcomes;
2. Identify the gaps in your learning to achieve your non-clinical competencies for specialty training;
3. Provide you with 5 days of leadership opportunities to underake simulated case study and group work and to have some of your MBA leadership learning presented in a portfolio of evidence for submission to Worcester University for enrolment to the final year of the MBA.
