Come and help NTS Rangers collect some amazing nature records at Threave Nature Reserve for an end of season mini bioblitz. We’ll start with examining an overnight moth trap, then walk a route stopping to record at three different points around the Landscape Restoration Project site.
Learn about the importance of citizen science, grassland, wetland and woodland habitats and how to look after our amazing wildlife! You never know what you might find!
Wildlife identification and recording expert Malcolm Haddow from SWSEIC will be on hand to help us identify and record our finds.
Open to all - under 16’s must be accompanied by an adult.
Free but donations on the day are appreciated. Booking is required.
Meet at Threave Nature Reserve Information Centre, opposite the car park. Just off the A75 roundabout south of Castle Douglas, follow signs for Threave Castle.
Please dress suitably for the weather conditions with stout shoes or boots. Paths are good, with some slopes. Accessible toilets on site.
Please note we sometimes have to cancel activities if conditions are unsuitable. In the event of a cancellation you will be notified at the email address you have registered with Eventbrite. Please check before you leave.
Any queries please email ThreaveNature@nts.org.uk and we will be happy to help.
