Event description

Description

Recognising and responding to mental health needs has been one of the most important developments in the field of intellectual disability over the past 40 years. During that time, staff working with people who have ID have become increasingly sophisticated in their knowledge of mental health issues, and increasingly pivotal in the roles they fulfil. Overall, the assessment of mental health problems has become an increasingly collaborative venture between psychiatrists, psychologists, nurses, social workers and others. The PAS-ADD tools have become widely adopted throughout the UK, Australia and many other countries, as a way of improving the quality of assessment, and communication of information between professionals.

This is an opportunity to attend a training workshop led by the author of the PAS-ADD system, Dr Steve Moss.

The Mini PAS-ADD is for adults, and was designed to be usable by a wide range of professionals, not just clinicians. Subsequently, the Child and Adolescent Psychiatric Assessment Schedule (ChA-PAS) was developed in response to an increasing recognition of the need to improve mental health services to younger members of the ID population.

This course will give dual qualification on use of the Mini PAS-ADD and the ChA-PAS.

Course Facilitator: Dr Steve Moss

Participants will receive a certificate and be entered on the International Register of authorized users.
