About this event

About this course

This mini woodcut workshop explores traditional relief printing using carving tools on plywood. You'll design and carve your own woodblock, then add colour through a monoprint process—painting a background on acetate and transferring it to Japanese paper. The carved block will then be printed over the colour, creating rich, layered images.

What will I need to bring?

All materials and equipment will be provided.

You may want to bring some ideas, imagery or reference material to draw from (though not essential). High contrast, line images work best. Fit your design to an A6 size and format.

Please wear old clothes as printing can get messy. No sandals, heels or open toed shoes. Aprons will be provided.

You may want to bring a packed lunch and your own water bottle.

Teas and coffees are provided.
