🌈 come through & join us for a sober, QTIBPOC nature gathering. this is a safe(r) space exclusively for queer, trans, intersex and non-binary, black people and people of colour . please note that attendees must be both BPOC and LGBQTI+. if you are one or the other, this event is not for you.

🛌🏽 ACCESS

😷 whilst we do not mandate mask-wearing, we encourage folks to COVID test (provided at the event) and mask if they are able to. we ask folk to cancel their ticket, if they become unwell, have flu symptoms or any other contagious illness. this is to protect our disabled/chronically ill facilitators and vulnerable members of our community <3

♿️ the site is technically wheelchair accessible, but has wood-chipped paths which can become uneven and a ramp to the compost toilet. we therefore ask if you are a wheelchair user to please notify info@bethnalgreennaturereserve.org in advance so that the site can prepare for your arrival. we make sure that there are options for seating: chairs with back support, fabrics on the floor to lie down, benches and stools.

📧 if you have a question or need, specifically relating to access, please email gayathiri@miseryparty.org. if you need to bring your support worker, please let us know. if your support worker is not BPOC, please email and we’ll figure out a work-around <3

Frequently asked questions

What time does the event run?

The main session takes place from 12pm-3pm. We greatly appreciate people being on time (obviously life/transport happens!) but we like to make a prompt start and aim for the facilitator's flow not to get disrupted :-)

Are children welcome?

Yes! Absolutely, families/children are most welcome - we ask that they are accompanied and always supervised by a responsible adult.

Can I book a spot if I am only dropping in?

Preferably not. Our events are extremely oversubscribed and always have a long waitlist. The sessions are planned as a container with important safety info and introductions at the beginning, rather than a drop-in setting.

Can I bring a pet with me?

Yes! Please make sure that you are supervising your pet, sensitive to other attendees' needs and that dogs are kept on leads at all times. The site is a nature reserve, so this is crucial to avoid disturbing birds or newts in the pond!

If I don't have a ticket but really want to come, can I attend anyway?

Generally speaking, please don't attend if you haven't got a spot - to respect our facilitators' capacity and materials for the group size. If you join the waitlist, spaces do come through from cancellations so don't be put off! Please email maymana@miseryparty.org if there's an exception <3
