In January 2018, the first edition of the Global Goals Beauty Pageant was launched and 17 girls registered their interest for the title Miss Global Goals-Liberia. These 17 young women will be representing each goal. The theme of the pageant is: “The role of Young women in achieving the SDGs.”

The Purpose of the pageant is to create awareness of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals. Each goal can be achieved if everyone is aware of them, only then can actions be taken. This pageant brings together 17 young College students representing each goal to create awareness through videos, Radio talk shows, social media, Public discussions and other initiatives. We are Leaving No one Behind!

The contestants will be graded through their awareness events (ie: how many people attended, how many persons liked or shared their social media posts, etc.). Points will also be collected from votes. Finally, points will be collected from performance during the pageant. Each contestant is required to do a power point presentation of the goal they will be representing during the pageant.

There will be no kickoff. Contestants who do not earn enough points from their events or who fail to host an event will be dropped from the pageant. The events stage will be used as our kick-off stage.

AWARDS:

Winner:A New Vehicle plus she will be the Face of Youth ActionNetwork Liberia.

1st Runner up:A living room set

2nd Runner up:24’’ Television and a Mini Icebox

Proceeds from this pageant will go towards the opening of YANL Life skill training Program for Girls in Margibi County.
