Event description

Description

Playing the piano and singing her award winning repertoire of uniquely catchy all-original songs, London cabaret sensation, lounge-tastic ex-Vegas nightclub chanteuse Miss Hope Springs, brings her laugh-out-loud-move-you-to-tears’ one woman Christmas show to Live at Zedel, accompanied by her Hot Jazz Combo on throbbing double bass and sizzling percussion. You’ll hear Hope’s blend of finger snapping pop, romantic rhumbas and sassy bossa novas as she performs her original seasonal songs such as ‘Santa is a Woman’, ‘Christmas Calyso’ and ‘Paper Snow’, interspersed with scandalous showbiz revelations about Christmas pool-parties in Bel-Air, the dire consequences of too much egg nog and a cold December night spent with an Englebert Humperdinck impersonator in a Malibu motel, all served with a frosting of vintage Vegas glitz and and healthy side-order of festive schmaltz.

Miss Hope Springs is the towering blonde floor-to-ceiling sequinned creation of composer, lyricist, pianist and comic actor Ty Jeffries. Ty is the son of the late British screen legend Lionel Jeffries and his formative years, living and going to school in Hollywood, lend real authenticity to his multilayered portrayal of never say die show business trouper Hope. Ty danced with Fred Astaire down Sunset Strip one night, was sung to by Maurice Chevalier by the pool of the Chateau Marmont Hotel and fell asleep in his soup during dinner with Frank Sinatra at the Brown Derby (well, he was only 6 at the time). Ty is a classically trained pianist (Purcell School) and after 2 hugely successful years at The Crazy Coqs in Piccadilly, a recent 6 month residency at The Hippodrome Casino Ty recently returned from a hugely successful 11 date tour of The States where his show was hailed ‘A triumph’ by Cabaret Scenes USA. Ty lives in London and has recently been accepted into the The Royal Society of Musicians.’ Ty’s formative years living in Tinsel Town lend authenticity to his multilayered portrayal of never say die show business trouper Hope. Ty is a classically trained pianist (The Purcell School) and was recently elected a member of the Royal Society of Musicians of Great Britain.

'Now It’s Christmas Time, a sparkling Christmas show filled with festive songs so finely sculpted you’d be forgiven for thinking they’d long-since entered the classic Christmas songbook! A five-star show from a unique five-star artist’
