Missing Maps London October mid-month mapping party
What is it? The Missing Maps project / Humanitarian OpenStreetMap Team (HOT) Mid-month London October mapathon has been confirmed for Tuesday 18th October 2016.
THIS IS A SPECIAL MID-MONTH MAPATHON. YOU WILL BE LEARNING HOW MSF AND OTHER NGOs COLLECT FIELD DATA, FROM BUILDING SURVEYS TO VISUALISING DATA. BRING AN ANDROID PHONE IF YOU HAVE ONE AND A COAT. YOU WILL BE GOING OUTSIDE FOR SOME OF THE EVENING.
What do I need? You will need to already be a confident mapper in JOSM to attend this event. Other than that a laptop (please bring your own) a mouse (the mouse isn't absolutely necessary but makes the mapping A LOT faster, there will be some spares available) and enthusiasm for completing the assigned tasks.
You will need prior JOSM experience to take part in this particular event.
During the break/a suitable moment we would like to capitalise on the attendance of group to explore our current practices/process to better improve the overall mapping experience, so please bring your thinking caps along.
There is also the opportunity for you to be part of the Missing Maps London Working Group [MMLWG] for experienced mappers - please email firstname.lastname@example.org for more info on how to access our Slack and other materials!
What do I do now? Get yourself an eventbrite ticket for this event and we'll see you there!
