An interactive exploration of learning tools on iPad in and out of the classroom for teachers and educators.

Join us Knetic Education for an adventure back in time at Beamish, The Living Museum of the North as we delve into the essentials for any education provider looking to propel their classroom into the future.

Our one-day CPD event is designed to inspire teachers who are interested in exploring how iPads can be used to support cross-curricular computing activities inspired by educational visits. Through a series of engaging "missions," participants will have the opportunity to develop their iPad skills and gain fresh ideas for activities that they can implement with their own classes.

Agenda

09:00 – Arrival and coffee at main entrance
09:30 – Bus to the town
09:40 – In the Bank Boardroom – Introduction to the day from Sunderland RTC and the Beamish staff
10:00 – Mission briefing
11:00 - Missions – Media collection/creation activities
12:30 - Lunch
13:00 - Curation Phase - Work on completing your mission and create a presentation to share what your group have accomplished.
14:15 - Afternoon Tea
14:30 - Presentations – Each group to present their work, explaining the apps that they used, where they visited and what their workflow was.
15:20 - Wrap up and evaluations
15:30 - Close of event and opportunity for independent exploration of the museum

About Knetic Education

The session will be delivered by Mark Lloyd and Jane Adamson from Knetic Education. Both are highly experienced teachers who over the years have gained accreditation in a number of areas and have previously worked with Sunderland Local Authority to support Sunderland schools. They also drive the Sunderland / Durham Apple Regional Training Centre - helping deliver courses to build the skills and confidence of educators to use Apple technology inside and outside the classroom.
