About this event

Spirituality • Christianity

How does the Bible relate to politics? What is a Christian vision of politics? These are crucial questions for the church to answer. If our nation is to recover its Christian roots and a vision for a Christian society then we need some clear thinking about how Christianity and the Bible relates to politics. Perhaps one reason for the moral state of the nation today is the failure of the church to speak clearly into moral issues where they are political?

Join us as we bring together a collection of internationally recognised speakers on this important topic with opportunity for Q&A and a panel discussion.

Speakers and Contributors

Rev. Dr Joseph Boot, Ezra Institute (Ezra Centre for Christian Thought)

Rev. Dr Joseph Boot (M.A., Ph.D.) is a Christian thinker, cultural apologist/philosopher, Founder and President of the Ezra Institute (Ezra Centre for Christian Thought) in Canada, USA, UK, and served as founding pastor of Westminster Chapel, Toronto for 14 years. Now based in the UK, he has worked in the fields of Christian apologetics, worldview education and church leadership for over twenty years on both sides of the Atlantic. He regularly addresses pastors and Christian leaders as well as academic, medical, legal, and political professionals and has publicly debated leading atheistic thinkers and philosophers in Canada and the United States.

Andrea Williams (Christian Concern)

As Chief Executive and co-founder of Christian Concern and the Christian Legal Centre, Andrea Minichiello Williams has led some of the most high-profile and ground-breaking Christian freedom cases and parliamentary campaigns in the United Kingdom and Europe. Through bold legal advocacy and strategic cultural engagement, she has been at the forefront of defending life, family and Christian freedoms in the United Kingdom and beyond. Andrea is a qualified barrister with over three decades of experience in law, public policy and campaigning.

She is a powerful and passionate voice for Christian truth, working tirelessly to see society transformed by the gospel in every sphere, from law and politics to education and healthcare. This vision led to the formation of the Wilberforce Collective and an increasing global influence through partner organisations. Andrea is married to Gareth; they have four grown-up children and one grandson.

Tobias Riemenschneider

Tobias Riemenschneider is married to Nicole and is the father of three children. He is pastor of the Evangelical Reformed Baptist Church in Frankfurt, Germany. He is also a trained lawyer and worked for international law firms for about ten years before moving into full-time pastoral ministry. Tobias is the founder of PRO REGE Ministries, an organisation dedicated to defending the Christian faith and promoting a biblical worldview among Christians in Germany, and PRO REGE Publishing. He is co-author of the internationally recognised Frankfurt Declaration on Christian and Civil Liberties, which opposes state totalitarianism. He is also the author of the book Resisting Tyranny: A Christian Response to Government Overreach (Ezra Press, 2023). Tobias regularly comments on political and social issues in Germany from a legal and biblical perspective. He also serves as Fellow for Church-State Relations with the Ezra Institute (Ezra Centre for Christian Thought).

Stephen Perks (Kuyer Foundation)

Stephen Perks is the Director of the Kuyper Foundation. He was born in the West Riding of Yorkshire 1956 and now lives in Somerset, England. He was the Editor of Christianity and Society, the Foundation’s journal for nineteen years prior to its transition to the internet as a website, Christian Renaissance Media. He has written twelve books and has lectured on a variety of issues, including theology and Christian world-view, economics, politics, education, legal history and music, at conferences in Britain, Europe, the USA, Australia, New Zealand and Africa. He is also a composer of orchestral and choral music, and has written two grand operas, three large-scale symphonies, three instrumental concertos and a variety of shorter instrumental and choral pieces, including symphonic poems and church canticles. His ministry has a particular focus on promoting the Christian world-view, on applying the Christian faith to the social and political issues that face Church and society in the contemporary world, and in challenging the intellectual, political and cultural idols that dominate so much of modern life in the West. He has been described as a “world-view missionary.” He was ordained as a Minister of the Gospel and an Evangelist in 1990. He is married to Susan and has three adult children and six grandchildren.

Paul Huxley (Christian Concern)

Paul has worked for Christian Concern since 2009, leading its communications team since 2018.
