Description

IMPORTANT NOTICE - ROAD CLOSURE

We have been made aware that Church Lane, linking the Brighouse/Elland road with Southowram, is currently closed due to roadworks and indications are that this will be the case for TWO WEEKS.

At this stage, we intend to still run the workshop as planned on Tuesday but grown-ups are advised to check Google Maps (which is showing the road closure) for an alternative route and sufficient travelling time to be included.

In 2019 we’re celebrating the 50th anniversary of the moon landing which inspired generations with the bold ambitions to explore our solar system … and beyond!

Our builders will be able to create Technic LEGO models with an interstellar theme, as well as building a lunar base using Classic LEGO bricks.

We’re also going to let them create a moon buggy from scratch – no instructions – using the Technic LEGO …. A real opportunity to use their imaginations!

Organised by Bricktopia and delivered by Bricks4Kidz

Boys and girls aged 5+

During the workshop children will create models using unique Technic LEGO kits and exclusive building instructions.

The young builders will also use Classic LEGO bricks to create, from their imagination, additional models to help tell epic adventures!

Grownups are welcome to stay but please indicate when booking or send an email so we can ensure we have the capacity in the venue.

________________________________________
The B4K team are especially keen to provide a comfortable and appropriate environment for children on the autism spectrum, and their siblings, to enjoy the workshops.
Parents do not have to stay but if their child normally receives additional support in schools then they are welcome to remain.

The Building Better Calderdale Futures (BBCF) programme is funded by the Short Breaks initiative and subsidised by Calderdale Council.
The BBCF programme aims to support families of disabled children – primarily those with learning difficulties – with LEGO brick based sessions delivered locally in the district.
Notes
- A simple form must be completed by parents/carers to allow us to provide data to Short Breaks. No personal data will be retained without consent.
- Parents/Carers are responsible for all children who would normally receive additional support in school.
