About this Event

There are two riverboat trips to see the play. This is Trip 1 for the earlier performance.

Arrive at St Benet's Green Horning from 10.30 to collect a token. Watch the first scene at St Benet's Green at 11.00 before boarding at 11.15 for departure to continue the play at St Benet's Abbey. The riverboat will collect you at about 3.00 pm for the return trip, arriving back in Horning at about 4.00 pm. You are welcome to bring a drink and snack to eat after the end of the play.

Please note that the site has uneven ground and open water. There are no facilities. Please wear appropriate clothing and footwear.

Organised by The Friends of St Benet's Abbey in association with Norfolk Archaeological Trust.

The play 'A Time to Gather Stones ' is based on stories and research from local people and written by Brian Abbott of Parrabbola. It is directed by Philip Parr and performed by people from the local communities as part of the St Benet's Abbey :1000 years! project, funded by the National Lottery Heritage fund. There are two free on-site performances and three free easy access performance in local villages.

If the weather is bad enough for the onsite performances to be cancelled the riverboat trips will go ahead and there are no refunds.

Note: The car park at St Benet's Abbey is closed on 8th and 9th June. Access is on foot or by cycle.
