In this 2 hour workshop you will learn to work with with Mitsuro Hikime wax, an ancient Japanese moulding wax, to create gorgeous shaped jewellery wax models.
At the end of the class, if there is a wax model which you love, this can be sent to a casting house for it to be made into a piece of precious metal jewellery for you (cost of casting is not included in the class price).
You will learn the techniques for working with the mitsuro hikime wax to create organic shaped pieces of your very own design.
The workshop will take place at The Studio at Millbank, Millbank House, Cumnock and a maximum of 8 attendees will take part in the workshop.
Suitable for those aged 12 to 94+ although any attendees aged from 12 to 16 need to be accompanied by a paying adult attendee. No previous jewellery experience is necessary, materials are supplied and all tools needed for the class will be provided for use in the workshop.
Make sure not to wear loose clothing, closed toe shoes should be worn and please remember to bring glasses if needed as we will be working with small objects.
