Mixed Media Landscape Workshop
Come and join local artist, Wendy Gray for the day exploring the creative possibilities of working with an exciting range of materials and formats to create a beautiful, landscape themed final piece which can be framed, made into cards or stand proud as sculptural piece – you decide!
You will start of by experimenting with a range of materials on small sampler pieces. Wendy will demonstrate and encourage you in exploring the key points and possibilities for each material and then you will create your own landscape piece based on a photograph, magazine image or working from your imagination. You will select which materials and format you would like to focus on for your main piece of the day with Wendy to guide you through composition, working in relief, creating depth, texture and definition into your piece. We will also explore freehand stitching on the sewing machine and how it adds that extra dimension and interest in your work. It will be a fun workshop where you will need to bring an apron and enjoy getting stuck in.
Wendy has worked as an Art & Design teacher for many years both here in Yorkshire and in Beijing. She provides a relaxed and inspirational atmosphere to all her workshops and loves to patiently guide all participants to develop their own style and creativity. You will finish the day relaxed, with a smile on your face and a great sense of pride in what you have achieved!
The workshop includes all the equipment you need. Just bring along an apron and some inspirational imagery. No previous experience required.
