MK Bierclub: IPAs
Wed 18 January 2017, 19:00 – 22:00 GMT
MK Bierclub takes place on the third Wednesday of every month at 7pm at The Biergarten in Wolverton Park. Join us for a beer tasting with a difference: Sample a selection of six themed beers and matching snacks in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere. We'll tell you a little bit about the beers but try to keep the extensive hop-talk to a minimum. This is an inclusive evening which invites beer geeks and novices alike! Tickets will go on sale exactly three weeks before the event.
IPAs, or India Pale Ales, were first brewed as an extension of the lightly hopped pale ales of the 18th century. Beer was exported for the first time and adding more hops made the brew last longer, gave it a higher ABV and stronger flavour. Today, IPAs have become a stample among the craft beer brewers, who have even started to condense them into D(ouble)IPAs. Join us for a brief history of the IPA with beers from all of the UK and beyond!
