Dr. Morrow, the Lord Lyon will be will be speaking about the activities and responsibilities of his office.
The Court of the Lord Lyon is the Office responsible for the granting and matriculating of Armorial Bearings in Scotland. All Scottish Heraldic business is conducted through the Court of the Lord Lyon. The Lord Lyon King of Arms is a judge and the duties of the Court are divided into two broad categories. The first concerns establishing rights to arms and pedigrees which, when satisfactory evidence is produced, results in a recording in the Public Register of All Arms and Bearings in Scotland, or in the Public Register or All Genealogies and Birthbrieves in Scotland. The second concerns the ceremonial duties of the Lord Lyon King of Arms and Officers of Arms.
